NILAI, July 8, 2020 – During a memorandum signing ceremony conducted at Chansellery Lounge Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) and Islamic Banking and Finance Institute Malaysia (IBFIM) collaborated in regards of Islamic Financial field. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Mohamed Ridza Wahiddin represented USIM while witnessed by Professor of the Faculty of Economics and Muamalat (FEM) Prof. Dato Dr. Mustafa Mohd Hanefah. On the other hand, Tuan Yusry Yusoff, Chief Executive Officer of IBFIM represented with Tuan Haji Mohammad Khairi as the Head of IBFIM Talent Development and Training as witness.
Certified Professional Shariah Auditor (CPSA) program will be developed by USIM and IBFIM is expected to run for 3 years.
Prof. Dr. Zurina Shafii, Professor of the Faculty of Economics and Muamalat said that USIM and IBFIM have worked together from the start in achieving several programmes successfully. To date, 31 participants have completed this CPSA program successfully. Members of the Association of Malay Chartered Accountants Malaysia (AMCAF) and also final year students from the Faculty of Economics and Muamalat USIM 2019 have joined dan completed.
“Since 2009, this CPSA program is a study on shariah audit done by a research team under the Accounting, Auditing and Governance in Islamic Institutions (AAGII) Cluster which is under the supervision of the Faculty of Economics and Muamalat USIM. Seeing the potential of the field of shariah audit, AAG11 led by Prof Dato Dr Mustafa Mohd Hanefah has taken efforts by introducing a syariah audit syllabus for undergraduate programs under FEM starting 2010. This was followed by the publication of the first scholarly book on USIM shariah audit. named Governance & Shariah Audit in Islamic Financial Institutions in 2012 ”, added Prof Zurina.
