Nilai, August 20 — The 11th International Islamic Economic System Conference (I-iECONS 2025) was successfully held online today, marking another milestone in the promotion of Islamic economic thought and research.
Organised by the Faculty of Economics and Muamalat (FEM), Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), the event carried the theme “Digitalization, Innovation, and Sustainable Development Through Islamic Economics.” It brought together academics, researchers, and professionals to discuss current challenges and opportunities in the rapidly evolving global economy.
This year’s conference adopted a hybrid format, beginning with the online session on 20 August 2025 and followed by a physical gathering in Bandung, Indonesia, on 27–28 August 2025, co-hosted by Universitas Islam Bandung (UNISBA). The hybrid approach enabled broad participation from both local and international delegates, strengthening academic and institutional collaboration across borders.
The conference featured a wide range of sub-themes, including Economics, Banking and Finance, Accounting and Corporate Governance, Business and Management, Marketing, Halal Industry, and Islamic Social Finance, covering areas such as zakat, waqf, and takaful.
Participants presented papers and exchanged ideas on how digitalisation and innovation can support sustainable development guided by Islamic values. The discussions underscored the importance of integrating ethical principles with technological progress to create balanced, inclusive, and responsible economic systems.
Selected papers from I-iECONS 2025 will be considered for publication in indexed journals and book chapters, reflecting the conference’s continued commitment to academic excellence and impactful research dissemination.
Through its combination of virtual and physical engagement, I-iECONS 2025 reaffirmed its role as a leading international platform in advancing Islamic economics, providing insights that contribute to more resilient and sustainable global economic practices.
