Pengenalan

Masalah alkohol dan dadah adalah masalah khusus dan memerlukan kepakaran yang khusus juga. Ia memerlukan program yang dibentuk khas dalam bidang pengurusan, pendidikan pencegahan, dan juga pemulihan. Dengan adanya program khas sebegini diharapkan akan lahir kumpulan yang mahir dan pakar yang dapat memberikan impak yang kukuh kepada pengurusan, pendidikan, pencegahan dan khidmat pemulihan.

Dalam menangani permasalahan ini, USIM mengorak langkah menawarkan program fleksi bertaraf Sarjana yang bermatlamat untuk melahirkan kumpulan pakar di kalangan kaunselor/personalia dalam bidang pengurusan, pendidikan, pencegahan, pemulihan dan rawatan dalam alkohol dan dadah di negara ini.

Kumpulan Sasaran

Kaunselor, Pegawai Psikologi, Kaunselor Sekolah, Guru Bimbingan dan Kaunseling, Guru Pendidikan Pencegahan Dadah (PPDa), Guru, Pegawai AADK, Pegawai Penjara, Pegawai Polis, Pegawai Tentera,  Pekerja Sosial, Pegawai Pembangunan Sumber Manusia, Pegawai Kebajikan, Pegawai JAKIM, Pegawai Perubatan, Pegawai Kesihatan, Pegawai Belia dan Sukan, Ahli Badan Bukan Kerajaan dan mereka yang terlibat dalam aktiviti pendidikan pencegahan, rawatan, pemulihan,  penjagaan lanjutan dan bidang berkaitan dengan penyalahgunaan  dadah.


Objektif Program

  1. Melahirkan pakar yang berpengetahuan tinggi dalam bidang pendidikan pencegahan dan pengurusan dalam penyalahgunaan dadah.
  2. Melahirkan pakar yang mahir dalam menguruskan permasalahan dadah.
  3. Melahirkan pakar yang mahir dalam bidang pencegahan penyalahgunaan dadah.
  4. Melahirkan pakar yang mahir dalam bidang rawatan dan pemulihan dadah.


Tempoh Pengajian

9 bulan sepenuh masa. Kursus dijalankan dalam tiga penggal dan setiap penggal kuliah memakan masa 10 minggu. Pelajar akan mengikuti program internship dalam setiap penggal.

  1. Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, Bandar Baru Nilai, Negeri Sembilan.
  2. Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Kampus Sepanggar, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah
  1. Bachelor in Counseling or Guidance Counseling with CGPA of 2.75 and above.
  2. A relevant Bachelor's Degree with a CGPA of 2.75 and above at least three (3) years experience in relevant field.
  3. Other similar qualifications and related experience recognized by the Senate.

(1)  An applicant shall show evidence of proficiency in the English language based on the following criteria: 

  1. TOEFL minimum score of 180 (computer-based) or 64 (internet-based); or
  2. IELTS minimum score of Band 5; or
  3. MUET minimum score of Band 3; or
  4. graduated from institutions that use English as the main medium of instruction, AND will be required to seat for University English Proficiency Test (UEPT) with minimum score of Band 3; or
  5. graduated in the field of Teaching of English as a Second Language (TESL), English Language Studies (ELS) and equivalent from a university recognised by the Senate; or
  6. a native speaker of English.

(2)  Research-mode applicant who intends to write his/her thesis in Arabic will be required to fulfil the criteria as follows:

  1. TOEFL minimum score of 150 (computer-based) or 52 (internet-based); or
  2. IELTS minimum score of Band 4; or
  3. MUET minimum score of Band 2; or
  4. UEPT minimum score of Band 2.

(3)  An applicant who does not fulfil any of the criteria under (1) & (2) will be allowed to register conditionally and is required to fulfil any of the criteria under (1) or (2), within 12 months (for Master’s students) and 24 months (for Ph.D. students).
