Nilai, Negeri Sembilan – On January 12, 2023, the Faculty of Economics and Muamalat (FEM) at Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, welcomed a delegation from Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) led by Dr. Arif Hartono, Head of Management Department, Faculty of Business and Economics, UII, to discuss potential collaboration in organising and hosting the ASEAN School of Business Forum (ASBF). The visit also included discussions on potential research collaborations and student exchange programmes between the two universities.

During the visit, the delegation from UII and USIM discussed cooperation in organising the ASBF, which is a regional academic platform for higher learning institutions to exchange ideas, knowledge, and best practises in business education and research. Through this collaboration, UII and USIM can pool their resources and expertise to promote business education in the ASEAN region.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to collaborate with Universitas Islam Indonesia on the ASBF,” said Associate Professor Dr. Fuadah Johari, Deputy Dean (Research and Innovation) of the Faculty of Economics and Muamalat at USIM. “This is a great opportunity to establish a strong and lasting relationship between our two universities that can benefit all parties involved.”

In addition, both universities also discussed potential research collaboration opportunities that can contribute to advancements in their respective fields and provide opportunities for students and faculty to gain valuable experience and learn from their peers at other institutions.

This visit marks the beginning of a strong partnership between UII and USIM, and both universities look forward to future collaborations that will benefit the academic community and promote mutual understanding, cultural exchange, and economic integration among ASEAN countries.

“We hope to collaborate with USIM in the ASBF and other upcoming programs,” said Dr. Arif Hartono, Head of Management Department, Faculty of Business and Economics, UII. “This is a great opportunity to improve understanding and collaboration among higher education institutions in the ASEAN region, and we hope to continue this positive relationship.”

The visit demonstrates the commitment of both universities to promoting quality business education and enhancing collaboration among higher education institutions in the ASEAN region. USIM and UII look forward to working together to achieve these goals and bring benefits to students, faculty, and the academic community.
